Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the last table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest players anywhere in the world. While wagering on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He often participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world could be players you have never heard about. Gus can be seen competing in net poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha high and hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money games?
