Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve last game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers around the world. While betting on net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen more often than not buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the min buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I believe television can skew our view of the real world at times. The greatest players in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found wagering on internet poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
