Double-hand Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the wild west in a fantastic game for beginning level players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the croupier, unlike most other poker games that gamblers wager against other players. By betting against the dealer, beginner players don’t have to worry about any other, more advanced players winning their moolla.
A further Pai Gow advantage is the relatively leisurely game pace, newcomers will be able to take their time and strategize while not having to make frenzied choices.
It’s also much simpler to enjoy for an extended time with only a little bit of cash since, to lose, both of your hands needs to be under both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is given seven cards faces showing and the house receives 7 cards face down.
One five card hand and one two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the houses.
