Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve closing poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest gamblers around the world. While betting on internet poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is flat broke, he has no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the min takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amount. I believe television can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard of before. Gus can be seen betting on net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and Holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in money rounds?
