Internet High Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve final poker table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While participating in net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.
Playing for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full dollar value. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest players anywhere in the world might just be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found wagering on internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in money games?
