NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five where he liked betting on various card games when he was young. He discovered himself becoming very competitive in these particular card games while competing against his dad. After graduating from secondary school, Howard made a decision to place college on hold for a little while and moved away to New York City to participate in some big-time chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s first two years were rough as he would play extensive hours and lost most times. He made some extra money by becoming an assistant for the poker players. He believed he might better his game by adjusting his life outside of poker. He brought about an attempt to get more rest and focus attention even more on the game.
The real advancement in his abilities happened when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest players would frequently challenge one another. Howard had access into a few of the greatest players in chess. With their assistance, Howard Lederer would hone his logical thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategy concepts to the game of NL texas hold’em.
Howard also helped his sibling Annie Duke master the game of poker. She was a superb student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper choice. Howard told Annie Duke to head out to Vegas and compete in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie is one of the best female players the poker world has ever seen. Howard moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and competed in cash games for the following decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard decided to participate in more tournaments.
