Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the croupier is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
A five card hand and one two card hand must be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
